The Uplift Kickstarter campaign was a strategic decision to launch a new innovation directly to customers during Covid. The goal was to drive brand awareness direct to consumers while generating rapid cashflow during uncertain times.
I created a new grow light arm + plant stand concept for consumers who wanted a grow light without the burden and commitment of installing directly into drywall. The added flexibility to remove the arm and add supplement light to other plants was a huge benefit that was not currently in the market.
I worked with domestic suppliers to create prototypes for the video and photoshoot. The creation of the campaign was a huge team effort that was great for morale as it gave us something to focus on other than the pandemic. Our hard work paid off as the campaign was fully funded and ended up being a huge boost to the bottom line and funded innovation in an uncertain time.

Once we were funded I worked with engineering and manufacturing partners to create the components. Then when the goods arrived I worked with the Production team to educated them on how to assemble the new product.
The Curious Critters project was designed to connect kids and the outdoors by educating them about pollinators and encouraging them to plant wildflower seeds.
The playful molded paper pulp critters come with colored pencils for decorating and mounting to a stake to act as your garden marker while you wait for your flowers to grow.
Aimed at improving user experiences at campsites, the Insect Repellent lantern was a technological challenge at every turn. I had to incorporate a new technology into a lantern while also considering the user experience of installing the repellent puck.
I wanted to differentiate this lantern from the rest of the product line because of it’s unique technology. The end result is a sophisticated form paired with a thoughtful repellent solution.
The Coleman Core Organizer Backpack was my first experience designing soft goods. The Coleman brand had struggled for several years to get their backpacks placed in mass retail. Traditionally, the team had sourced existing backpacks from overseas vendors which left them with uninspired packs that were similar to the competition.
This project was the second in a pivot to create Coleman bags from the ground up that would focus on user-centered innovation. The Core Organizer Backpack was intended to incorporate flexible storage that would allow the bag to be used for a number of occasions from camping to commuting.
The Coleman lantern was a fast turnaround project with less than a month for form development as well as incorporating all the speaker and lantern parts into the form before sending to the overseas manufacturer. This is the first bluetooth speaker lantern that Coleman has created and there was no historical model to reference. We launched on time and on cost targets and the product has been well received at retail.
The Loop mug was a quick turnaround project to foster a positive relationship with our Costco partners. After they requested a new lid technology on a tight timeline I performed quick user research to gain insights on how to make our products better. After mapping the user experience and gaining key insights we decided to add a finger loop to one of our existing products to differentiate from our previous offering but also expedite production overseas.
This project came with unique challenges I hadn’t tackled before and I gained so much as a designer working on the Handled Autoseal mug. The internal mechanism, dual drink interface, handle ergonomics, complex three-shot molding technique, and incorporating a chrome ABS band into the lid required me to absorb a lot of information and create a final concept that considered all these factors simultaneously.
Spanning 3 years at the Ignite division of the Newell Design organization, I worked on several beverage-ware products. This is a grouping of Bubba branded beverage projects that I led which are available today.
The Euro mug was intended to drive Contigo up-stream in the beverage market as a sophisticated aesthetic upgrade to the top selling Snapseal lid technology.
